Rice

Rice is a kind of food. It’s obtained from paddy. Rice is a staple food of Bangladesh. It grows in plenty in Ceylon, India, Bangladesh, Burma, Japan and in many countries of the world. There are many kinds of rice. But the chief varieties Aus, Aman and Boro. But aman is superior in quality and grows in plenty in Bangladesh. The Aman is sown in  rainy season . It’s reaped in winter. The Aus grows on high land. It is sown in  summer . The Boro grows in marshy where water stands till the winter season. It's sown in winter & reaped in spring. At present a new variety of rice called IRRI is being cultivated. It grows fifty to sixty mounds per acre. Rice is of two kinds-Atap and Siddha. Various kinds of delicious foods are prepared from rice.

Rainy Day

The day when it rains all day long is called a rainy day. Such a day in seen in our country generally in the rainy season. On a rainy day the sky is covered with black clouds. The sun is not seen. The weather is rough. It looks gloomy all around. When it rains called cats and dogs. River, tanks, wells, canals etc. are filled with water to the brim. The road becomes muddy and slippers. No man can go out without umbrella. Passers-by walk along with shoes in hand and clothes folded up. They have the risk of a foot-slip. Schools do not sit and the students enjoy an unexpected holiday at home. On a rainy day the poor and the day laborer of our country suffer much. They can’t go out of their house in search of work. Often they pass a rainy day in starvation. The domestic animals keep standing in their sheds. A rainy day is an important day for poets, authors and intellectual persons. Winter Morning

A winter morning is misty & cold. There is dense fog everywhere. Sometimes the fog is so dense that the sun rays can’t get through it. Even things at a little distance can hardly be seen. Bird’s chipping is not heard. The cow & other animals can’t come out. But it is not so in every morning. Dew drops fall on leaves & blades of grass at night. They look like glittering pears when the rays of the morning sun fall on them. Village children & people have hardly warm cloths. They gather straw & dry leaves to make fire to warm themselves. The old & the poor busk in the sun in order to warm themselves. People in general & children get up late. So everyone is busy to taking breakfast, dressing & getting ready for going to their respective places. In a winter morning one can enjoy delicious & sweet cakes & many other things. The scene of the winter morning vanishes as the day advances. The sun goes up & the fog melts. A winter morning is enjoyable
